Shopware 6: the perfect platform for your eCommerce project

Is the "update" to Shopware 6 coming now?
No. Shopware 6 is based on a completely new concept and is technologically completely different from its predecessor. This step was necessary in order to say goodbye to legacy code and build Shopware on a future-proof and modern foundation.
Shopware 6 is still open source under MIT license and offers a high degree of flexibility and freedom as the ideal basis for your e-commerce strategy. Proven and stable technologies such as Symfony and Vue.js are still part of the new flexible and high-performance architecture, making it easy for developers to get started.

What's new at Shopware 6?
Probably the most decisive technical change compared to Shopware 5 is the "API-first approach", which provides the necessary flexibility and technological basis to develop eCommerce solutions of the future. The flexible core of Shopware 6 adapts perfectly to people's requirements, demands and expectations, making it a fully-fledged headless solution.
This means that Shopware 6 is fully functional even without Frontend. All relevant components such as Frontend, administration or integrations such as ERP, PIM or CMS can be accessed via interfaces and create a basis for completely new business models.
This approach provides the ideal foundation for both small businesses and large, complex enterprise projects—enabling rapid response to market changes, flexible growth, and the creation of seamless cross-channel customer experiences.
The new administration interface, which was developed together with retailers and is easy to expand, offers a well-structured interface that is visually and functionally oriented towards the current state of UI/UX development for complex Backend systems.

With the worlds of experience in Shopware 6, content and eCommerce are combined in order to pick up customers with the required emotionality and present the products in the best possible way. In this way, they create holistic shopping experiences regardless of the end device or the desired channel.

The sales channels in Shopware 6 offer you the opportunity to manage your products centrally and play them out in the desired sales channels, whether in the classic online store, at the point of sale, in social media channels or in marketplaces. "Sell where your target group is!". The sales channels can differ not only in terms of product range but also in terms of currency and language.
Shopware 6 also offers many new features for B2B customers, such as access for authorized employees to multiple customer accounts or quick orders, which allow orders to be conveniently processed via an article mask using a CSV or XLS file.
There are also exciting innovations in the area of internationalization or the Rule Builder, which can be used to map complex rules and thus make prices, experience worlds or shipping costs only available to certain user groups, for example.
