The Project
Since 2020, edding has relied on sitegeist as a competent and agile partner in the design, consulting and technical implementation of its diverse e-commerce activities.
A future-proof start with Shopware 6
Important foundations and goals of the implementation were developed in joint workshops on the topics of conception, user experience (UX), user interface (UI) and technical implementation with the customer. Case studies and key performance indicators (KPIs) were coordinated. Finally, the IT architecture, the interfaces and a roadmap for agile implementation were drawn up.
The aim was to create a comprehensive online store for the entire product range.
A digital mindset, online marketing and e-commerce commitment will put edding on an even broader footing. Since the start of the project, Shopware 6 has been used as the ideal technical basis for this as a future-proof and innovative store system.
Unique selling points of the store (USP)
The special feature of the store is the detailed presentation of all product information - on application scenarios, product safety and all technical details such as colors offered, line widths or drying properties. This is made possible by individual filters, among other things.
The store serves as the ultimate product finder that promotes the brand values, supports users in expressiveness, personal freedom and the realization of ideas and also puts niche products in the right light.
A high-quality edding shopping experience
The individual design of the store with a user-centered user interface supports the edding brand image and creates a high-quality, coherent shopping experience. The layout is intuitively designed and impresses with a highly individualized article detail page, a wide range of filter options and the focused presentation of product variants.
Leading system: SAP
SAP is integrated into the edding online store as the leading system. Shopware 6 can clearly demonstrate its "API first" advantages as an extremely flexible headless commerce store system.
The data exchange was deliberately limited to one interface. SAP and PIM communicate "edding internally", further synchronization of product data, prices, availability, orders and returns takes place directly between SAP and Shopware via the API.
edding - Signature products and new business areas
When you say "permanent marker", you say "edding". founded in Hamburg in 1960, the traditional company is a generic term and synonymous with "the" waterproof felt-tip pen "Made in Germany".
In addition to its core business in the field of "Writing & Marking", with the iconic "edding 3000" permanent marker and now over 180 pens for a wide range of industrial, household and laboratory applications, edding also offers numerous new products such as nail polish, tattoo ink and sprays.
Sustainability and ecological commitment are also very important to edding with its refillable products. The EcoLine series also offers climate-neutral pens made from up to 90% recycled plastic.
With almost 700 employees, headquarters in Ahrensburg and over 11 branches in nine countries, the owner-managed public limited company is a household name for writing and marking in more than 110 countries worldwide.
