Grand Resort Bad Ragaz // Multi-Site Relaunch
5-star performances in TYPO3

The Project
More than ever before, the new website emphasizes expansive imagery and video to communicate the uniqueness of the resort to its highly discerning audience. At the same time, usability has been greatly simplified, and the number of pages significantly reduced. The result is a clearer, more emotionally engaging, and faster-loading website.
“With this new brand presence, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is setting a very important milestone for the future,” says Claudia Herkert, Director of Marketing & Sales at the Swiss resort, which was voted “Best Wellness Hotel in Switzerland” by Sonntagszeitung for the ninth consecutive time in 2017.

Top Agencies in Collaboration
To realize the relaunch, the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz assembled a team of specialist agencies. Each brought their expertise to the table:
- Branding concept: Jung von Matt/brand identity
- Design: Rembrand (St. Gallen)
- Video production: Racerfish
- Technical implementation: sitegeist
The close, collaborative partnership between all agencies was a key factor in the success of the project.
Racerfish was on board to create the videos and sitegeist was responsible for the sophisticated technical implementation. The collaborative partnership between all agencies was a key factor in the success of the project.

TYPO3 on Speed
While the website is still powered by TYPO3, the powerful open-source CMS was significantly optimized for performance and editorial efficiency. Editors are now presented only with the essential content elements they need for their work.
Custom page types allow structured content entry for rooms, restaurants, and packages using data fields. These are then rendered automatically into fully formatted pages with associated teaser content. This greatly reduces editorial workload, keeps the backend organized, and ensures consistently appealing results on the frontend.

Located in the Swiss holiday region of Heidiland, the spa town of Bad Ragaz bears the “Wellness Destination” quality seal (awarded by Switzerland Tourism). Seven restaurants with a total of 59 GaultMillau points and 1 Michelin star, along with a bistro and a café, provide exceptional culinary experiences.
Guests can also enjoy two golf courses, the Kursaal Business & Events Center, a diverse cultural program, and the resort’s own casino. Since 2016, Hotel Schloss Wartenstein has also been part of the resort group.
The “Blue Gold” of Bad Ragaz – thermal water discovered in 1242 in the nearby Tamina Gorge – fuels the 36.5° Wellbeing & Thermal Spa and the public Tamina Therme, offering guests a uniquely authentic spa experience.
This is further enhanced by evidence-based medical services from the internationally renowned Medical Health Center, including the Swiss Olympic Medical Center. In 2014, the outpatient offering was expanded to include an inpatient rehabilitation clinic with 17 luxurious rooms and outstanding care services – providing optimal conditions for fast recovery.
