The project

This extraordinary product from Hapag-Lloyd Cruises sells itself primarily through generous visual worlds that inspire interested visitors in front of their screens. Technically, the website is based on a LongPage concept, i.e. a long page on which the ship is effectively staged with visual scroll effects. What is new here is that several LongPages on the ship, the facilities, the shore excursions and the routes have been combined into a Multi-LongPage website.

An intelligent navigation and loading concept makes it possible to jump between the LongPages without disrupting the product experience with long waiting times. Technically, many stops were pulled out anyway. Even on weaker computers, the large image stages move across the screen with different speeds and smooth movements, creating the impression of depth through this parallax effect.

Another special feature pleases the editorial team: all LongPage content can be maintained independently by the Hapag-Lloyd Cruises team. A special editorial system was developed by sitegeist for this purpose. We wish the ship and its guests a safe voyage across the world's oceans at all times.
