It all started with a nail file...
A broken fingernail was the origin of an idea. The success story began in 1992 with an idea that Stefan and Birgit Hinz had while on vacation. Initially, the couple processed just 5 parcels a day from their own garage. Today, with over 400 employees, this has grown to around 80,000 shipments per month.
The product range includes everything to do with nail care and beautification. the first outlet store was launched in 2006. In 2008, the own brand JOLIFIN was founded and the JOLIFIN stand became a talking point at important beauty fairs.
Our task
As part of a comprehensive transformation, our client Pretty Nail Shop 24 successfully took its extensive online store for high-quality nail design products to the next level.
Since April 2023, we have been working hand in hand with the internal development team and supporting them with up to six experts from the fields of Frontend and Backend development.
The project launch in November 2023 marks a milestone that now serves as a starting point for the further development and integration of additional functions.
In addition to the website, the existing native app is also undergoing a comprehensive overhaul to meet the new requirements.
Consulting & Implementation of the Online Shop
The sitegeist team worked closely with Pretty Nail Shop 24's in-house developers to plan and implement the online store.
Our expertise was used to solve challenging tasks, including optimizing the cache and implementing content elements, fine-tuning complex extensions and incorporating comprehensive UI elements, especially in the checkout area, to ensure seamless app integration.
The tasks were defined and prioritized together with the customer in daily stand-up meetings. The successful coordination enabled a seamless handover of the solutions to the internal team, so that autonomous further development and maintenance of the modules and functions by the customer is guaranteed.
Support with the design and implementation of the app
In a seamless transition, our team took over the native app from the previous agency, carried out targeted refactoring and ensured that the interfaces were adapted to the new requirements. Parallel to the launch of the new online store, our team also went live with the app in November.
Our app team is currently working on integrating the AI-based Algolia search into the app.
