Website Relaunch
Spital Schwyz is a modern medical competence center offering a broad range of services and state-of-the-art infrastructure. It is equipped to treat complex injuries, serious illnesses, and special needs with highly qualified medical professionals.

"By People for People – for 170 Years."
With its mission to combine excellent care and cutting-edge technology while preserving a sense of familiarity and human connection, the hospital sought a complete website relaunch in 2022. sitegeist was chosen to carry out this project.
The Challenge
To make a strong impact both internally and externally, the entire website needed to be rebuilt and its content restructured and optimized—not only in terms of technical modernization but also strategic clarity.
Goals and Requirements:
- Develop and sharpen brand identity and positioning
- Strengthen the employer brand to better appeal to potential applicants
- Simplify navigation and improve content structure and discoverability
- Target all relevant audiences: patients, relatives, doctors, and applicants
- Improve organic SEO rankings and online visibility
- Increase traffic, unique visitors, and page impressions
The main challenge was translating complex, high-stakes content into a well-structured and intuitive web concept that communicates the right messages clearly.

Strategy, Concept & Development
At the start of the project, there was a detailed conception phase in which not only the client's project team, but also the hospital management and the medical specialists were involved.
At the start of the conception phase, we held a lean inception workshop at the client's premises with all stakeholders on the following key topicserpuncts:
- Goals, competition, market: status quo, strategic direction and outlook for future plans and developments
- Mission, vision, identity, guiding principles: positioning, strengths/weaknesses analysis, differentiation from competitors
- Target groups: specification, definition of customer journey
Parallel to the workshop, a questionnaire was used to collect data on site in order to obtain detailed feedback from all departments on the target groups and relevant content of the department.
This ensured that no target group or important content was forgotten during the relaunch and also increased identification with the project within Spital Schwyz by involving a large proportion of employees.
Based on the results of the workshop and the data collection, the visuality and tonality as well as the content strategy were developed together with the customer in subsequent meetings and the further course of the project was coordinated.
The Result
The outcome is a modern, clearly structured website where patients, relatives, doctors, and applicants can quickly find the information relevant to them.
All texts, visuals, and messaging were updated to align with the hospital's refined brand identity, effectively differentiating Spital Schwyz from its competitors.
Custom sections for departments and medical staff allow content to be updated directly by those teams. Using backend linking in Neos CMS, doctors are automatically displayed as contact persons in the appropriate sections—no additional editorial input needed.
Thanks to extensive SEO optimizations and content enhancements, the hospital’s online visibility has significantly improved.
