Steinbeis Papier // Digital Lead Agency
Relaunch & Online Marketing

Group of electronic devices with text, computer and display.

Challenge & Objective

As a manufacturer of graphic recycled paper, Steinbeis Papier recognized the importance of environmental protection and sustainability at an early stage—and has consistently aligned its entire value chain accordingly, including procurement processes.

From raw material sourcing to paper production and energy generation, Steinbeis has spent decades continuously rethinking every aspect of the paper production process. The result: printing, copy, offset, and digital printing papers made from 100% recycled fiber, which use significantly fewer resources than comparable virgin fiber papers—without compromising on quality.

The brand core, "Redesigning the Future", represents a clear stance and calls for consistent brand communication across all channels.

With a modern presence and new communication strategy, we want to clearly express our self-image. Sustainability is our business model, and we want to inspire others to join in and rethink. The new website is our business card online — and our global shop window to the world.

Technical Implementation

The Steinbeis Papier brand communicates with authenticity, passion, factual clarity—and a constant drive for reinvention.

A brand’s tone of voice emphasizes its personality and character. Visual identity follows the brand model: Steinbeis Papier communicates clearly and consistently. The use of white and green reflects modernity and freshness, while bold typography conveys strength. The imagery is honest, real, and approachable. All of this is consistently reflected in the new online presence, developed by sitegeist and launched at www.stp.de.

Technically, the new site is built on TYPO3. Instead of standard content elements, editors work with components that ensure content creation is fully aligned with the visual style guide. These components are based on Fluid Components, the TYPO3 ecosystem developed by sitegeist.

The website presents itself clearly and straightforwardly. A generous use of whitespace provides clarity and helps focus on the essentials. Navigation is simplified, with the number of pages and hierarchy levels reduced to a minimum. For content-heavy pages, in-page navigation assists with content comprehension and enables users to jump directly into sub-sections.

A key feature is the Sustainability Calculator, which allows users to calculate how much wood, energy, water, and CO₂ they save based on their individual paper consumption. The values are then used to generate a customized PDF—automatically created server-side—for download, printing, and sharing.

Timing & Real Teamwork

From the kickoff workshop to go-live, only eleven weeks passed. The new site even went live ahead of schedule—in five languages. This was made possible by a small, efficient project team that collaborated remotely and enabled rapid coordination. Client approvals were granted at record speed, and content was quickly entered into TYPO3 thanks to the component-based editing system.

At Steinbeis, we like to take a high-performance approach to project planning and execution. Especially in times when in-person meetings aren’t possible, flexibility and discipline on both the agency and client sides are essential. The relaunch of stp.de is a textbook example of successful communication and close collaboration between agency and company.
