Sysmex Europe // Relaunch across 25 countries
Content framework for global market leaders
sitegeist created a customized TYPO3 content management platform with a specially programmed API for the automated maintenance of 25 country sites, connecting the customer portal and the web store. Powerful, flexible and scalable, the solution supports the group's growth.

The client: global leader in laboratory diagnostics
Sysmex Europe is one of over 50 subsidiaries of the Sysmex Corporation – a globally leading provider of in-vitro diagnostics and innovative laboratory solutions.
The international manufacturer of innovative analysis devices and services for laboratory diagnostics focuses on laboratory analysis systems for hematology, but also serves urinalysis, flow cytometry, oncology and pathology. The main target groups are hospitals, medical laboratories, research institutes and doctors' surgeries.

The challenge: More web power for global growth
Sysmex’s existing web platform could no longer keep up with the company’s rapid expansion. Key limitations included poor scalability for multilingual content, subpar performance, and inflexible content management.
Sysmex Europe needed a high-performance, scalable TYPO3-based solution that would allow centralized content management across 25 localized websites in the EMEA region — with seamless integration of its customer portal and e-commerce platform.
The solution: TYPO3 with full multisite capability
We consolidated all Sysmex websites into a single TYPO3 system. By leveraging TYPO3’s powerful multisite and localization features, we enabled efficient content delivery across 25 regional markets and in multiple languages.
A central content framework simplified editorial workflows, and the TYPO3 setup remains scalable to meet future demands.

-specific websites
Step-by-step approach
1. Unified Content Framework: We developed a common structure as the foundation for all Sysmex websites.
2. Efficient Localization: TYPO3 tools enabled streamlined, centralized content translation and distribution.
3. Microservices Architecture: To boost performance and reduce redundancy, we built a custom infrastructure – including the Sysmex Product API Microservice, which consolidates data across the CMS, customer portal, and webshop.

Highlights
- Sysmex Product API Microservice: Custom-programmed interface that bundles product data from websites, customer portal and webshop into a single source - the CMS.
- FluidComponents & FluidStyleguide: Fluid components developed in the styleguide enable the reusability of content on all Sysmex websites.
- TranslateLabels: Extends the translation function of TYPO3 to translation sets that can be edited by Backend users. This allows Backend users to translate labels without having to access the language files.
- ResponsiveImages: This provides ViewHelper and configuration to generate valid, responsive images based on TYPO3 image cropping
- Efficient multisite management: Seamless management of multilingual content on 25 country websites thanks to a centralized management system CMS
- High stability and speed, even with large volumes of data thanks to optimized microservices architecture
- Uniform branding across all platforms and country sites
- Scalable for future growth: the architecture is adaptable and ready for expansion
Benefits for Sysmex & the marketing team
- Central content management: The marketing team can now manage content centrally and at the same time efficiently manage regionally adapted campaigns and content.
- Faster time-to-market: The centralized system means that new products and services can be published more quickly on all websites.
- Cost efficiency: The standardization of the websites significantly reduces the maintenance effort and associated costs.
- Improved collaboration: Teams from different regions can work better together as all websites are based on the same platform.
With this centralized, efficient and scalable solution, Sysmex is well equipped to maintain a strong digital presence globally and regionally, both now and in the future.
