Following the successful launch of the website for the Iberotel Hotels & Resorts brand, the online presence of the TUI hotel brand Dorfhotel has now also been relaunched by the digital agency sitegeist.
The task
The goal was once again to highlight the brand’s core values and convey them to the target audience in a media-appropriate way. Dorfhotel, for example, is the ideal choice for a family vacation surrounded by unspoiled nature – and this is clearly reflected in the design. A special image stage was developed for the brand, allowing users to explore large-format hotel images interactively using their mouse.
Technologically, the relaunch also leveraged synergies: Dorfhotel is based on the same tried-and-tested TYPO3 platform as Iberotel. Many modules were reused and visually adapted to fit the Dorfhotel branding.
This includes the expansive SupaFly® navigation, an especially innovative user interface that enables fast, clear, and intuitive access to all site content. All information across the first to third navigation levels is accessible with a single click. The navigation is enhanced emotionally with imagery and is fully editable via TYPO3’s dynamic content management capabilities.
Synergies were also realized in the booking process: The DIRS21 hotel booking engine by TourOnline AG was integrated via an existing interface. Depending on the selected hotel, query parameters are passed through a quick booking form, and the system displays available offers accordingly.
Dorfhotel at a Glance
Dorfhotel is a hotel brand operated by TUI Hotels & Resorts. The family holiday specialist currently manages three villages located in:
- Boltenhagen / Baltic Sea
- Fleesensee / Mecklenburg Lake District
- Sylt / North Sea
The concept of “Apartment Living – Hotel Comfort” defines these car-free resort villages. Their relaxed holiday atmosphere and the spaciousness of the large apartments are particularly appealing to families.
