Amprion
AI starter workshop for Enterprise companies
How can artificial intelligence be specifically integrated into the day-to-day business of corporate groups?
This question was the focus of an all-day AI workshop organised sitegeist jointly organised with the Transmission system operator Amprion at the Unperfekthaus in Essen in Essen.

About Amprion
- 3.100 employees
- 30 locations
- 15 billion turnover
- 29 million people supplied with electricity
Amprion GmbH is one of four transmission system operators in Germany. The company operates an 11,000 kilometre extra-high voltage grid, thesecond largest in Germany.
Amprion ensures a stable and secure electricity supply for 29 million people and makes a key contribution to the energy transition by continuously expanding the grid and preparing it for a climate-neutral energy system. In addition, Amprion takes on coordinating tasks in the European interconnected grid.
From the basics directly to concrete implementation.
More than 20 participants from the area of corporate development came together to learn more about the functionality and practical use of the company's own AmprionGPT - a specially customised version of GPT-5.
The day was an impressive demonstration of how a company with a clear focus and willingness to learn can take the first big step towards the systematic use of AI.
A workshop with a clear goal: making AI tangible
At the beginning of the day, each participant formulated their expectations of the workshop: Where are we today? Where do we want to go? And above all: How can AI help us to work better?
This openness laid the foundation for a productive, practical exchange.
The goal was clear: to understand how good prompting works - and how the company's own AmprionGPT can be used specifically to simplify work processes and promote new ideas.
What makes AmprionGPT special
The AmprionGPT is based on GPT-5 and has been specially customised to Amprion's requirements. Its use is deliberately focussed - and that is not a disadvantage, but a feature:
- Secure environment: Only the input of text prompts and the upload of PDF and DOCX files is possible.
- All other functions such as Internet access, code execution or extended uploads are deactivated to ensure data security and clear application boundaries.
- This creates a controlled, productive and trustworthy AI environment in which employees can experiment freely - without risk.
- This clear structure helps to focus on the essentials: thinking with AI.
Better prompting - the basis for meaningful results
In the first part of the workshop, the sitegeist-KI experts provided practical tips on prompting.
Because writing a good prompt is more than just a technical task - it's a mindset.
Participants learnt how to structure prompts clearly, formulate the context precisely and define the desired results.
Topics covered included
- How to assign roles and objectives to the model ("You are a project manager and should design a roadmap").
- How to control format and tone (e.g. "Create a summary in bullet points, professional but understandable").
- How to set up multi-stage tasks effectively ("Analyse first, then summarise, then derive recommendations for action").
It quickly became clear that AI only delivers as good results as it is asked for.
for Amprion as a concrete result of the workshop
From use case to implementation: working in small groups
After the theory, things got interactive: together, the participants collected over 50 specific use cases from their day-to-day work.
The spectrum ranged from analytical to creative and organisational topics. And the diversity showed that AI is not a niche topic - it can provide relevant support in almost every area of work.
In order to turn ideas into concrete applications, the participants split into small groups.
Each group took on selected use cases and worked them out in detail:
- Which specific tasks should be supported?
- What does the ideal prompt look like?
- Which results are helpful - and where are the limits?
In the end, a joint documentation of the best prompts was created, which will serve as an internal reference work and starting point for the further use of the AmprionGPT.
This collection is a tangible result - and at the same time an important step towards systematically building up knowledge about AI in the company.

AI introduction as a process - sitegeist as a partner
The workshop at Amprion provides an example of how companies can successfully get started with AI: Step by step, practice-orientated and with a clear understanding of the benefits and limitations.
sitegeist supports organisations in developing their own AI systems and anchoring them sustainably in the company - with a focus on
- Safe and controlled AI environments (e.g. own GPT models).
- Knowledge building and training through interactive workshops.
- Integration into processes and workflow s in order to measurably increase efficiency and quality.
The goal: not just understanding AI, but using it productively.
