Andermatt Swiss Alps

An interactive lifestyle and experience hub was developed to offer visitors to the premium destination of Andermatt a central point of contact. The minimalist design language and focused user guidance underline Andermatt's claim to be an exclusive Alpine destination.

The client: A first-class alpine destination

Andermatt Swiss Alps AG is a leading Swiss developer of luxury real estate and high-end tourism offerings. Its mission is to position Andermatt as a world-class Alpine destination by combining exceptional hospitality, diverse recreational activities, and sustainable development.

The challenge

Previously, information about accommodations, activities, and local highlights was scattered across multiple platforms — making it hard for users to plan their stay. A central, unified solution was needed to simplify access and deliver a consistent, high-quality brand experience.

The strategy

We aimed to develop a central digital experience hub that consolidates all relevant tourism offerings and enables seamless itinerary planning. A responsive design ensures optimal usability across all devices, while maintaining a premium look and feel.

The solution

The lifestyle and experience hub presents itself as a user-friendly platform with clearly structured categories for accommodation, activities, restaurants, cultural offerings and regional highlights.

The new website bundles the diverse experience options in Andermatt under a clearly structured, visually strong interface. The aim was not only to provide information, but also to bring the place to life - both digitally and emotionally.

sitegeist to achieve this, we designed a completely new site structure with a focus on tourist content and a high-quality look and feel that reflects the brand's premium aspirations.

In close collaboration with the client, sitegeist developed a customized UX and UI design that guides users through the extensive range of products and services.

The Quickbooker offers a low-threshold entry point and guides users directly to the booking processes of the individual hotels, while modules for sports, culture and seasonal highlights cater to individual interests.

The editorial work is supported by AI-based text revision, which ensures a consistent tone of voice and clear messages - on all pages and in all languages.

The new website for Andermatt Swiss Alps not only impresses with its design, but also with its technical implementation at the highest level. As the first multilingual project based on Neos 9, it actively contributed to the further development of CMS - among other things through valuable feedback on Beta 19 and the Erprobung of compatible communityPackages such as Sitegeist.Taxonomy, Sandstorm.LightweightElasticsearch and Sitegeist.SchemeOnYou.

Customized OpenAPI endpoints were implemented for the smooth connection of external services - including the automated integration of job advertisements and the continuous synchronization of current weather data.

State-of-the-art architecture was also used for frontend: React with TypeScript ensures a robust and future-proof code base. The interface was designed according to a mobile-first approach and implemented consistently and with high performance using Tailwind CSS. Extensive tests with Lighthouse ensured excellent values for the Core Web Vitals.
