About the Client
With around 3,000 employees, GHD GesundHeits GmbH Deutschland ("GHD" for short) is the largest outpatient healthcare, therapy and service company in Germany. GHD combines over 20 different areas of expertise. From healthcare and nursing staff to care consultants, GHD is the right point of contact when it comes to care and health.
The "Gesina Shop" project
In Germany, people in need of care with a care level can order selected care aids worth €40/month free of charge. After an approval process, the care insurance fund covers the costs of the care aids (in accordance with Section 40 SGB XI).
As part of the project, an online store was set up that enables the ordering process and application via the form for reimbursement by the care insurance fund to be handled conveniently and completely digitally.
The project was launched in summer 2019 and went live in the same year.
The Project
Great importance was attached to an iterative approach in the project so that the store could be gradually expanded. During the design and programming, great importance was attached to mobile optimization so that the store can also be conveniently operated from a smartphone or tablet.
Digital Application for Care Supplies
One highlight of the store is the digitization of the care aid form, which can be filled out and digitally signed by the user during the ordering process. This eliminates the need to fill out forms by hand and send them by post, saving manual effort within the company.
The addition of a subscription function to the ordering function makes ordering even more convenient for the user and saves time and effort for the person responsible for maintenance.
Thanks to several content areas such as the "knowledge area", the user benefits from the numerous added values of the store through useful articles and tips.
A service bar developed by sitegeist at the side of the store means that the user always has an overview of the contact options and important links to the social media channels and the Gesina app.
Online determination of the care level
A care degree calculator developed by sitegeist enables users to assess whether they are entitled to a care degree. Great importance was attached to ease of use and a design based on the UI of the Gesina store.
