Challenge and goals

in 2023, Sysmex Europe SE, together with Sysmex Austria GmbH and Sysmex Suisse AG, commissioned sitegeist media solutions GmbH to develop the new e-commerce sales channel.

Desired goals

To create a robust, adaptable and user-friendly platform based on Shopware 6 that achieves three objectives:

  • to meet Sysmex's specific requirements for scalability and user-friendliness
  • to individually map the local market conditions of the subsidiaries
  • to create a solid foundation and blueprint for the rollout in other Sysmex markets in EMEA - beyond Austria and Switzerland

Our approach and the key features

Thanks to the excellent experience with Shopware since 2016, the choice of system was clear from the outset. During the design and implementation on the basis of Shopware 6, it was possible to draw on numerous already implemented plugins and the CI-compliant template.

The new platform makes it easy to adapt and expand the functionalities to meet future requirements and was equipped with several special functions right from the start:

  • Special B2B registration
  • Individual customer activation process
  • Automated notification of the store operator when personal data is changed by the store customer
  • Individual extension of the Shopware importer for customers, prices and products
  • Multilingualism (DE/FR in the Swiss store)
  • Customized prices
  • Request products (price on request)
  • Hiding of prices: Prices are only visible to registered customers
  • Extended statistics (e.g. on top-selling customers, products...)

Results

Since the launch of the new B2B online store in May/June 2024, Sysmex has enjoyed impressive success:

  • Efficient sales: the new online store significantly facilitates the sale of laboratory diagnostics and medical analysis devices
  • Increased customer satisfaction: The user-friendly interface and intuitive purchasing process lead to higher customer satisfaction, which is reflected in higher sales figures and new registrations from launch
  • Scalability: Thanks to the flexibility and adaptability of Shopware, Sysmex can react quickly to market changes and customer needs

Outlook

The successful implementation of the first country stores is just the beginning. Sysmex plans to roll out further country stores on this basis and adapt them to the specific needs of the various markets. Thanks to the close partnership with sitegeist, the platform will always be at the cutting edge of technology and will be continuously optimized and further developed.
