Our Client
Founded in 1949, the family-owned company travelite offers high-quality suitcases and luggage. In addition to the German market, the brand is also represented in other countries, including the Czech Republic. The existing online store for the Czech market has been replaced by a new online store based on Shopware 6.
The Czech online store is the starting signal for other countries, which will also be implemented in the near future.
The Project: travelite CZ
True to the motto "After the launch is before the launch": After the successful implementation of the travelite online store in 2021, the planning of an online store for the Czech market began. The local Czech partner was actively involved here. The planning involved an independent online store to replace the existing online store. In addition to an individual design, which was implemented in the same way as the German travelite store, individual adjustments were made to the Czech store. As every country has its own requirements, it was also important to build an online store that meets the Czech requirements in order to offer visitors a good UX (user experience).
Provision of the Shopware API to connect the Czech merchandise management system by the contact person.
Technically, the online store is based on Shopware 6 with a community license.
Localized Payment Integration
In order to offer visitors to the online store a good UX in terms of payment options, a Czech payment provider was integrated. This is a national payment provider that is not available as a standard plugin.
In exchange with our Czech contact, the payment provider was ultimately able to provide its own plugin, which we were able to integrate and configure in an alternative way.
Shopware Licensing Challenge
Shortly before the finished online store went live, a new challenge arose: the new Shopware license model. The plan to use the professional license, as in the German online store, became obsolete. For this reason, it was also necessary to react agilely to the new circumstances in order to be able to bring the finished online store live. After extensive consultation on the advantages and disadvantages, the customer opted for the Community license, for which individual adjustments were made by sitegeist.
