Baden-Württembergische Bank
More Digital Customer Proximity With the New Extendshop

Our Client

The Baden-Württembergische Bank (BW-Bank) is part of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) and is responsible for private and business banking—particularly focused on serving mid-sized enterprises in Baden-Württemberg. Headquartered in Stuttgart, the BW-Bank operates over 150 branches nationwide.

Partnering with Tenerity

Tenerity combines decades of expertise with creativity and technological excellence to deliver intelligent loyalty programs. With over 40 years of experience across more than 20 countries, Tenerity develops innovative end-to-end solutions that are used successfully by companies around the globe.

The Project

In close cooperation with Tenerity, sitegeist began the conception and implementation of the Extendshop for BW-Bank in March 2017. The portal officially launched in February 2018.

As with the previously launched GiroPRIVILEG platform for Sparkasse Lüneburg in 2016, Shopware served as the technical foundation—significantly extended to meet BW-Bank’s specific requirements.

The Extendshop offers BW-Bank customers exclusive offers, seasonal promotions, events, security products, and a travel portal with up to 6% cashback. In addition, around 180 partner shops were integrated to support cashback shopping, offering up to 18% cashback on purchases.

The Extendshop

The goal was to create added value for the extend account through positive user experiences to foster customer loyalty and engagement. sitegeist implemented our vision with remarkable competence, agility, and quality.

Digital Customer Card & Event Tickets

The Extendshop and all related backend processes were comprehensively expanded to support a much larger user base.

A key feature is the wallet-based virtual customer card, which allows users to access all benefits anytime via smartphone. Geo-location-based push notifications inform users about nearby offers in real time.

For discounted event tickets, Passcreator was integrated: tickets are delivered directly to the user's smartphone and can be used digitally—resulting in a significant increase in ticket sales.

Expansion With IDPROTECT

In a later development phase, the Extendshop was extended with Tenerity’s security solution IDPROTECT. The online monitor continuously scans the surface web, deep web, and dark web for pre-registered data to help protect users’ digital identities from misuse.

sitegeist handled the seamless API-based integration — enabling users to access IDPROTECT directly from within the Extendshop.

Even in this highly customized and feature-rich project, Shopware once again proved to be a stable and flexible foundation for complex commerce solutions.
