World's largest Neos tourism website realized - New website for international hotel chain.

H-Hotels

The H-Hotels Group, based in Bad Arolsen, Hesse, with locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and France, is one of the largest hotel operators in Germany.
The family-run group of companies with over 3,000 employees includes the brands Hyperion, H4 Hotels, H+ Hotels, H2 Hotels, H.omes, H.ostels and Hyperion. All hotels are marketed under the umbrella brand h-hotels.com. With their own service companies, such as a central accounting department, a full-service advertising agency, a travel agency and intelligent systems for purchasing, software development and e-commerce, all hotels and partners of the H-Hotels Group operate independently and flexibly.


The project

The concept, design and programming come from sitegeist.

The graphic approach pursues an easy-to-use website and clear structures for the user through the use of card-based elements and large-scale, emotional imagery.

In addition to the visual overhaul, the solution provides a stable foundation for all brand and hotel websites. These are maintained by the central marketing department and also by the local hotel managers. This requirement in particular calls for a highly user-friendly interface for the editors. It was not only the usability, but also the cutting-edge technology based on the PHP framework Flow that convinced the customer to use the open source Enterprise web content management solution Neos solution.

The new website is used to maintain more than 60 websites for hotels, brands, the umbrella brand and various campaign websites in up to 7 languages.

The modular system provided allows the editors to compile the content in such a way that the individual character of each website is possible, but a common visual and technological bracket is clearly recognizable.

To conquer the hotel market of tomorrow, you need courage and a pioneering spirit. That's why we decided to use Neos as an early adopter. The state-of-the-art approach and future-oriented technology were the main reasons in our decision-making process. We believe in Neos. This is also the reason why we decided to support the core team and play an active role in the future of Neos.

In addition to the intensive use of the Neos standard functionalities for content creation by the editors, many extensions were provided as part of the project, such as a long pager that can be maintained in Neos or a Neos Backend module for XLIFF-based translations.

Furthermore, the website was implemented responsively and optimized for a variety of resolutions from desktops to tablets and smartphones. Buildyourstay, our client's in-house booking system, was connected at various points via a REST API. Basic hotel information, such as address, contact details, number of rooms, amenities and offers are maintained centrally in Buildyourstay and synchronized with Neos.

As a central sales channel, the website also places high demands on availability and stability. This was ensured by a high-availability cluster.
